Listen to Obituary

Zachery Black, 32, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on July 12th surrounded by his mother and siblings, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him every day.

Zachery was born on May 15, 1994. He was a man with a strong spirit, a kind heart, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though he was often misunderstood, those closest to him knew the truth—Zach had a genuinely good heart and would help anyone in need without hesitation.

He loved his job at Sonic and found joy in the simple things in life—video games, his favorite Monster drinks, and spending time in his own way. He had a phrase he was known for, one that perfectly captured his energy and outlook on life: “hell yeah.”

More than anything, Zachery loved Jesus and fought his battle with cancer with incredible strength and courage. He was truly one of the strongest men we have ever known.

He is survived by his loving parents, Susan, and William; his siblings, Marcus, Melissa (Brandon) Garrett; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Ava, Nova, Brayson, Kaydon, and Jaxon, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and his beloved dog, Boogie.

Zachery’s life, though far too short, was filled with moments of love, strength, and resilience. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
