William John "Bill" Belting entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Jesus, his Lord, stood at the door and was waiting.
Bill was born on Wednesday, September 3, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John William and Mary Hoffman Belting. Bill graduated from World Harvest Bible College with a four-year degree, accomplishing it in three years. He also received a two-year earned business and administration degree from Michiana College of Commerce in South Bend, Indiana. Bill married his lovely wife Rebecca on August 6, 1983, in Lafayette, Indiana.
He served in the United States Air Force and was employed for 25 years at Wabash National with perfect attendance. He was highly regarded and appreciated by his coworkers at his job.
He was a member of the Lafayette Toastmasters at Purdue University for five years. In every competition he entered, he came in first place.
Bill was a genuine person. He never met a stranger and always greeted them with a smile and handshake. Many people referred to him as "Smiling Bill". He loved people and made it his mission to make sure they knew he was undeniably their friend.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, John William Belting; his mother, Mary Hoffman Belting; his brother, Kurt John Belting; and his sister, Ann Patricia Belting.
Bill is survived by his lovely wife, Rebecca Belting; sister, Mary Ann Jones of Sumter, South Carolina; and by 3 brothers, Joseph John Belting of South Bend, Indiana; Christopher John (Ann) Belting of Lafayette, Colorado; and Michael John Belting of Arkansas; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Bill's desire in life was to draw closer and closer to Jesus every day. He left a rich legacy of leading many people to Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
