Theodore "Ted" Teets

Theodore "Ted" Teets, 89, died in his sleep February 11, 2024, in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born in 1934 in East Chicago, IN, to John and Helen (Hoyda) Teets, and married his wife of nearly 64 years, Virginia (Antkowiak) Teets in Whiting, IN.

Ted served in the U.S. Army and was a retiree of LTV Steel (now Cleveland –Cliffs). He and Virginia built their retirement home in Celestine, IN, where they lived together for more than 25 years. He was a member of the St. Celestine Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, farming and gardening.

Ted is survived by his sons, Todd Teets of Sheridan, IN, Christopher (Jennifer) Teets of Cedar Lake, IN and Steve (Jessica) Teets of Lafayette, IN, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, son, David Teets, parents and two siblings, Raymond Teets and Irene Teets.

A private graveside service will be held for the family with no public visitation.

Memorials may be made in Ted’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospitals.
