Susan Elaine Barley

Susan Elaine Barley, 67, passed away on October 23, 2024, in Lafayette, IN. Born February 11, 1957, Susan was known for her vibrant and outgoing personality, always ready to engage in conversations and offer heartfelt advice. She cherished her role within her family, deeply loving her children and grandchildren. 

Susan’s career spanned several decades in the food service industry, where she demonstrated her skills in management at Steak n’ Shake and the Hour Time Restaurant. Even after the Hour Time’s closure, she continued to manage its banquet area. 

She attended Jefferson High School. 

Her family remembers her as the cornerstone of their lives. She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Jason, Robert, Michael (Sara), and Christopher; grandchildren, Zachary, Thomas, Payton, Julie, Hunter, Kenzee, Jacob, Ashley, Raelee, Michael, Jordan, Aaron, Austin, Lillian, and Cassian; and 10 great-grandchildren. Susan also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley, her father and step-father, her brother, Scott, her sister, Kimbra, her son, Jeffrey, and her husband, Tom. 

Memorial services for Susan are being planned and details will be announced later. Her legacy of love, guidance, and resilience will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
