Reba Jo Haskins Killey, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply.
Reba was born on February 6, 1939, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Martha and Verlie Haskins. She grew up alongside her beloved sister, Ruby Kiser, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1956.
Later that same year, Reba married Earl Killey Jr., and together they welcomed three children. Reba endured the heartbreaking loss of her son, Kelly, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Later in life, Reba found love again with Joseph O’Neil. Together they shared 30 wonderful years, building a life filled with companionship, laughter, and love. After retiring following many years of dedicated service at Macy’s, Reba and Joseph settled into a peaceful river cottage along the Tippecanoe River, where they enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of nature. Reba also endured the heartbreaking loss of Joseph in 2012.
Reba’s greatest joy was always her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched every generation. She is survived by her children, Joyce Huffer (Randy) and Nick Killey (Lisa); her daughter-in-law, June Killey; her grandchildren, Andrew Huffer, Amanda Morrow (Brian), Ali Reynolds (Bob), Joseph Killey, Cory Killey, Autumn Keesling (Sean), Ross Killey (Alicia) and Chad Killey; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brysen, Cayne, Kennedy, Rexton, Holden, Dash, Kenna and Karsyn; her nephews Marty Horn (Hollie) and Scott Gregory (Brenda); and great niece Madison DeMartini (Joey.)
Reba had a gentle heart and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her family, visiting with her close neighbors, and opening her heart to animals—especially cats and any creature in need of care. Her compassion, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Reba will be remembered for her loving spirit, her devotion to her family, and the kindness she freely shared with others. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the stories, traditions, and love she leaves behind.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Reba’s legacy of love will continue through the generations she so dearly cherished. May she rest in eternal peace. There will be a private graveside service at Rest Haven in the near future.
