Raymond Earl Turner, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Oxford, Indiana.
Raymond was a dedicated semi-truck driver who spent many years on the road, proudly working for McFarling Foods and Black Horse Trucking. He was deeply committed to his profession and to the trucking community, earning the respect of his peers through his reliability, work ethic, and generous spirit. His long hauls were more than a job—they were a reflection of his dedication to providing for his family and supporting the industry he loved.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Pauline and Thomas Turner Sr. and infant brother Edwin Leroy Turner.
Raymond is survived by his wife Kathleen Turner, brothers Bill Turner (wife Pam Turner), Thomas Turner Jr., and Paul Turner, sister Sharon Crockett, children James Turner and Angela Denson (husband Sheridan Denson Jr.), grandchildren Sheridan Denson III (wife Jessica Denson), Victoria Neff, Lance Denson (wife Kitti Denson), Kieron Denson (wife Bailey Denson), Jesse Turner, Laurna Turner, Jaysom Turner, Jasper Turner, Adeline Turner, Jacob Turner, and Julius Turner, great grandchildren Isaac Denson, Sheridan Denson IV, Addalynn Neff, Treysin Denson, Ashton Neff, Aryia Neff.
Raymond's life was marked by hard work, humility, and deep love for those around him. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down, the stories he told, and the countless lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be remembered for his work ethic, his deep devotion as a loving husband, and his quick wit that always brought laughter. He had an extraordinary gift for solving every crossword puzzle in the newspaper and an uncanny sense of direction—like a human GPS, he could guide you home from anywhere. No matter the time or reason, he was always just a phone call away, ready to help with anything big or small. He opened his heart to everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression through his kindness and generosity. And in the most unexpected of places—even playing video games at a restaurant—he showed us that joy can be found anywhere, and that it’s okay to embrace it.
A celebration of life will be held in Indianapolis at a later date.
