Patrica Alice Collins

Patrica “Pat” Alice Collins, 67, passed away surrounded by family on August 1, 2023.  She was born on February 24, 1956, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Jesse Lee and Fatima Alice (Armstrong) Collins.  She grew up in Wheatfield, Indiana, and graduated from Kankakee Valley High School.  She married and had two children, Matthew Lee Nagel and Amy Marie Smith.  She was a sister to Michael Collins and his wife Sheila and an aunt to their sons Michael, Jason, Eric, Aaron, and Travis.  She is a grandmother to five children David A. VanderWall, Jr, Pa O. Sisay, Jose “Tony” Garcia, Alexander Garcia, and Madelyn Garcia.

She is a retired Accounts Receivable Manager and loved spending her time reading, watching movies, all different crafts and puzzles, and mostly spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved going to all of their events and special occasions.  She adored and spoiled her cat, Bella Marie.  She loved her family deeply and always enjoyed the small moments.  She loved laughing and joking around, especially with her grandchildren.  She created so many lasting memories with her family and really looked forward to the annual family vacations in Florida.

She is survived by her father, Jesse L Collins; brother, Michael Collins along with his wife and 5 nephews and their families; son, Matthew L. Nagel; daughter, Amy M. Smith-Garcia; son-in-law, Jose A. Garcia-Avila; and five grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Fatima A Collins.
