Mary M (Passafiume) Hart

Mary M. Hart, 66, of Winamac, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her daughter's home on December 24, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.

Mary was born on September 7, 1957 in Hazelcrest, IL to the late William "Bill" and Joan Passafiume. Mary attended Seven Holy Founders grade school and Sandburg high school before studying business at Moraine Valley Community College.

Mary was a wonderful hostess, always making homemade meals, baked goods, and tending to the needs of anyone in her presence. She loved working on her homestead, especially gardening and seeing how many eggs her chickens laid every morning. She also enjoyed reading Scripture. Of all the lovely attributes Mary had, nothing surpassed being a mother and the love she had for her family. Mary never seemed to meet a stranger and left an impact on the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Michael, their children; Mitchell Hart of Portland, OR, and Dominica Hart (fiancé William Begley) of Reynolds, IN, three grandchildren; Maclaine, Giuliana, and Broderick, her sisters; Dianne (Dennis) Hebel of Venice, FL and Valarie Passafiume Urbanski of Bradenton, FL, brother-in-law; Ronald Hart of Alameda, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held for family and a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
