Lloyd Ervin Sharp, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born on September 21, 1940, in Shawnee Hills, Ohio, to Earl K. and Anna R. (Collins) Sharp. On Friday, February 13, 1959, Lloyd married the love of his life, Constance L. Ratliff. Together, they raised their two sons, Jeffrey and Clifton, and were married for over 67 years.
Lloyd graduated from Northwestern Highschool, Class of 1958, in Raymond, Ohio. He furthered his studies at Westinghouse Corporation in Mansfield, Ohio, and later worked as an appliance technician at Westinghouse in Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Indiana, he worked as a service manager at Montgomery Wards and then spent the last 20 years of his career as a Zone 5 Maintenance Technician at Purdue University, which consisted predominantly of coverage over the Large and Small Animal Clinics, until his retirement in 2006.
Lloyd enjoyed riding horses and served as President of the Al Asha Arabian Horse Club. He also enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and working on cars, especially his track-record-setting 1967 Pontiac GTO. He had a great love for his family, his animals, and Jesus Christ, and always cherished his time spent with them. He was especially proud of his grandson for earning his Industrial Engineering degree from Purdue University (Boiler Up!).
He is survived by his wife, Constance L. Sharp; his son, Clifton K. (Cathy) Sharp; his grandson, Jared L. (Lily) Sharp; three step grandchildren, Jonathan E. (Kyauna) Hamady, Nicholas A. (Alisha) Hamady, and Rebecca K. Hamady; two bonus grandchildren, Brandi N. (Casey) Burns, and Jessica E. (Kris) Lowery; seven step great-grandchildren; and his twin brother, Boyd M. (Patty) Sharp. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey E. Sharp; his brother, Dallas E. Sharp; his sister, Joyce E. Melton; and his parents.
Private family service to be held.
Lloyd was loved dearly and will be missed; until we meet again.
Ego Amo Te.
