Larry D. Wert

Larry D. Wert, 76, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away on January 8, 2025, due to ongoing health issues.

Larry was survived by his two daughters, Vanessa and Corrine; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and the furry joy of his life, Fuzzy, his beloved cat.

Larry was born in Frankfort, Indiana, and grew up in Monticello, Indiana. He was born to Peggy Lee Huffer (née Farmer) and was later adopted by Harry and Daisy Wert, who raised him as their own.

Larry had a deep appreciation for life and the freedom it offered. He loved his farm—his home away from home—where he found peace and comfort. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time along the river whenever possible. One of his greatest joys was cruising on his Moto Guzzi, feeling the open road beneath him. Larry also loved shooting pool, a pastime he enjoyed both for the game and the camaraderie it brought.

Larry treasured the relationships he built with his grandchildren and shared a uniquely close connection with his oldest grandchildren through time spent together and shared interests.

A skilled and hardworking man, Larry had a passion for working on trucks and cars. For a time, he proudly owned and operated his own towing business, a reflection of his independence, grit, and strong work ethic.

Larry will be deeply missed by many, but his stories, laughter, and the memories he created will never be forgotten.
