Larry Joe Lee, 76, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at IU Hospital.  Larry was born March 21, 1947, the son of the, the late, Joseph J. and Dortha (Mason) Lee at Lafayette Home Hospital.  He attended Mulberry grade school, Clinton Prairie and graduated from East Tipp High School in 1965.

After graduation, he was in the Air Force from 1965-1968 before moving to Oregon where he married his wife and worked a s logger.  After leaving Oregon, he moved to Alaska where he lived in a cabin in the wilderness and then went on to become a commercial fisherman.  Larry worked on a “Big” red boat that would later be featured on the TV Show “The Deadliest Catch”

During his retirement, he moved to Pheonix, AZ and returned in the fall of 2013 to Lafayette, IN.  Larry is survived by sons, Kevin and Aaron, daughter, Shana, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sister, Linda Draper.  He is predeceased by his parents, son, Lonnie and as sister, Bonnie Lee Cohee Culp.

The family will have a graveside service at Zion Citizens’ Cemetery, Flora, IN, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1pm.
