Kenneth Douglas "Doug" Kurth, age 69, passed away on July 13, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.
Doug was born on August 31, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Rosemary (Augustson) Kurth. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1974 and later completed a degree through ITT Technical Institute. Throughout his life, Doug worked in a variety of fields, including photography, the skilled trades, and maintenance, always bringing dedication and craftsmanship to his work.
On September 4, 1982, he married the love of his life, Andrea (Boyce), in Warren, Michigan. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and shared adventure.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in nature. He loved photography, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, and rifle sports. A man of faith and a proud Master Mason, Doug will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, passionate grandfather, and a loyal friend.
He is survived by his children, Ian (Kimberly) Kurth of Williamston, MI, Nathan (Hailey) Kurth of Howell, MI; grandchildren, Jocelyn and Hannah; and his brothers, Dennis (Ann) Kurth of Greenfield, IN and David Kurth of Chalmers, IN. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Andrea.
A celebration of life will be held at the Church of God in St. Johns, Michigan on Saturday August 9, 2025. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trout Unlimited.
