It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeff Deitrick, a
beloved husband, brother, and friend, who left us on July 13, 2026, at the
age of 55. Born in Lafayette, Indiana, Jeff was the cherished son of Martha
(Marty) Deitrick and the late Thomas Lynn Deitrick.
Jeff spent his career at Purdue University, contributing his expertise to the
Krannert School of Management as a dedicated IT Specialist. His
colleagues remember him not only for his technical skills but also for his
unwavering positivity and readiness to brighten a day with his infectious
humor.
On June 7, 2014, Jeff married Pam Deitrick, and together they shared 12
beautiful years filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering
companionship. His devotion extended to his family, where he was a
supportive brother to his sisters, Tina Deitrick and Terri Spain, and a caring
mentor to his stepdaughter, nieces, and nephews, offering guidance and
support through life’s challenges.
Beyond his professional and familial roles, Jeff was an active and
compassionate community member. He dedicated his time to volunteering
with the Humane Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters, where he left a
lasting impact on both the animals he cherished and the children he
mentored.
Jeff had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was
an avid disc golfer and ball golfer, relishing the time spent on the greens
with friends and family. His love for nature was shared with his wife and
family dogs during long, peaceful hikes.
Those who knew Jeff will remember his cheerful spirit, his loyalty, and his
readiness to lend a helping hand or share a good joke. His absence leaves
a profound void, but his legacy of kindness and joy will remain in the hearts
of all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on July 23, 2026, with Visitation at
2:00 PM and Service at 4:00 PM at Church Alive, located at 2401 S. 100
W., Lafayette, IN 47909. Family and friends are invited to gather in
remembrance of a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a
charity of your choice in Jeff’s memory, honoring his commitment to giving
back and making the world a better place.
