James Robert Weldon

James Robert Weldon, 76, of Lafayette, IN Jim passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident October 10, 2023.

Jim was born July 17, 1947, to, the late, Orville and Norma Weldon. He enlisted in the Marines when he was 17 and served 2 tours in Viet Nam (1965-1969).

On November 1, 1980, he married Betty Middaugh Herr who survives along with daughter Amy Ragland, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren – with a third due in December. Jim is also survived by sister-in-law Barb (Wayne deceased) Freed, brothers-in-law Chet (Barbara) Middaugh, and Paul (Kathy) Middaugh.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jim at the VFW Post 1154, located at 2660 Duncan Rd Lafayette on Oct 28, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or the charity of your choice.
