James Kendall Stark

 James Kendall Stark, 59, of Stockwell, Indiana passed away on August 22nd, 2025. Born May 18th, 1966, to Bruce Kendall Stark and Judith Ann (Martin) Stark, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jim graduated from McCutcheon High School and attended a semester of college at Southwestern Michigan on a sports scholarship.

After returning back home he married Stephanie Girardot of Lafayette, IN. On Sept. 9th, 1989. In 1992, they welcomed the birth of their son, Cody Kendall Stark, who now lives in Lafayette, Indiana with his wife, Barbara, and their son, Theo. They all survive, along with Jim’s two sisters, Pamela D. Wentworth of Flora, Indiana and Melody A. (Bill) Curwick of Stockwell, Indiana.

James and Stephanie’s marriage dissolved in 1995. He then went on to marry Erin Mays of Lafayette, Indiana on Aug. 7, 2007. Their marriage dissolved on Sept. 17th, 2017. Surviving are his two stepsons Bon (Jessica) Scott of St. Louis, Missouri and T. Mays, of Lafayette.

He also leaves behind his nieces: Kelli Hoke of Flora, Erin Wentworth of Rossville, Chaunci Curwick of Lafayette; and his nephew: Chad Curwick of Lafayette.

James spent the majority of his life in the Tippecanoe County area. The last few years he was deemed disabled and was living in Stockwell at his parent’s home.

In lieu of flowers or cards, all of the family ask that those of you who feel moved to do so make a donation to the McCutcheon High School Athletic Association in memory of James Stark, who was happiest during his time attending there.

The family has not scheduled a celebration of Life at this time but may have a small gathering in the future.
