James Lee Shepheard

James Lee Shepheard, 81, of Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in I.U. Health Hospital, Monticello, Indiana at 9:42 a.m. His wife of 49 years was by his side.

He was born on October 25, 1943 in Metropolis, Illinois. He was the son of Catherine Ann Scott and Lindell Thomas Shepheard. He married Linda Lou Langel Guzik on December 19, 1975 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He met Linda and told her he was going to marry her. Linda told him he was crazy. Their marriage lasted 49 years at the time of his passing. They would have been married for 50 years that December.

He was a truck driver all his life. He could drive any type of truck. He was an avid outdoorsman. But his passion was fishing. He always out fished anyone he was with.

He is survived by his wife Linda. Together they helped raise Dennis (Jennifer), Daniel (Emmy) William, Deanna Lynn and Steven Patrick. We have many grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren.

Preceded in passing were sons Michael and James Lee Jr.

His family are going to coordinate and plan a celebration of James life at a later date.
