Deanna Marie (Baker) Pozesny

Deanna Marie Pozesny, 83, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at Saint Franciscan East in Lafayette on January 1, 2024 and has now come home to join her beloved late husband of 52 years, Ret. SGM Alfred Gottfried Pozesny. Deanna Marie was born March 16th, 1940 at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Edward Joseph and Marie Elna (Rogers) Baker. She was an accomplished artist who loved to paint with oils and acrylics and her entire home was decorated with her beautiful landscapes, pet portraits, and more. She enjoyed a life-long career in radio and television as a talented copywriter and news broadcaster (KDBS, WYYY, WUHQ, WQXE, WIEL and WKMO) . Deanna also devoted many hours coordinating emergency services to help the people of neighboring towns after the 1974 tornado outbreak in Kentucky while working for WIEL/WKMO radio. She also volunteered for a time at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. Deanna Marie was an amazing mother. Everywhere Deanna went, she was loved by others for her gentle and compassionate nature. She loved animals, especially dogs, and was a contributing member of several animal charities. Surviving: son; Michael Richard Pozesny of Audubon, Iowa, daughter; Lisa-Marie Pozesny of Lafayette, Indiana, grandchildren; Brandon, Tanya and Chelsea, great-grandchildren; George, Gavin, Mattie, Lincoln, Harper and Cecile, 2 very much-loved companion Shetland Sheepdog rescues; Shiloh and Sundance.
