Dawn Moody (Bookwalter), 53, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and people whose lives she touched.

Dawn was the kind of person who always put everyone else before herself. She had a heart that made room for everyone, and she loved everyone’s children as if they were her own. Her family and the people she loved meant everything to her.

One of Dawn’s greatest joys in life was being a Nana. She treasured every moment she was able to spend with her granddaughter, Ava Moody, and cherished the special bond they shared. Being a Nana was one of the roles she was most proud of. Dawn was also filled with joy and anticipation as she looked forward to welcoming another grandbaby in October, a blessing she was so proud and excited to receive.

Dawn is survived by her fiancé, Doug Carroll; her daughters, Natalie Moody and Autumn Smith; her granddaughter, Ava Moody; her son-in-law, Thomas Smith; her mother, Linda Bookwalter; her sisters, Cathy Bookwalter and Lori Bookwalter; her nieces, Heaven Jackson, Jeannie Ruback, Jessica Moody, Erica Moody and Elizabeth Janeway; her nephews, Jacob Ruback and Patrick Jackson; and her great-nieces, Evelyn Jackson and Aurora Jackson.

Dawn will be remembered for her loving heart, her selflessness, and the way she was always there for the people she cared about. She gave so much of herself to others and never asked for anything in return.

Her family will forever carry her love with them and cherish the memories they made together. Though she is no longer physically here, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through her family, especially in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call her Mom, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt, fiancé, and friend. Her love and excitement for the grandbaby arriving in October will remain a cherished part of her memory.Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Nana.
