Carolyn Sue Thompson, 62, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Carolyn was born on October 3, 1963, in Lockbourne, Ohio, to George and Dorothy Usher. her father served in the United States Air Force, Carolyn moved several times throughout her childhood, experiencing different communities and making friendships along the way. She eventually made Indiana her home, where she lived with her family in Lafayette.

Carolyn continued her education at Fort Wayne Bible College, where she earned an associate degree. Her faith was an important part of her life, and her love for Jesus shaped the way she lived, served, and cared for those around her.

For many years, Carolyn worked as a preschool teacher. She had a genuine love for children, and teaching was much more than a career to her—it was a passion. She found joy in encouraging young minds, caring for children, and helping them learn and grow. Her warmth, patience, and compassion left a lasting impression on the many children and families she encountered throughout the years.

Carolyn was known especially for her deep and unwavering faith. She was never shy about talking about Jesus and the hope she found in Him. She frequently wrote letters and messages of encouragement, seeking to bring positivity, comfort, and hope to others. Carolyn often placed the needs of her family and friends before her own and was deeply concerned with the well-being of the people she loved.

Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was something she lived. Through her kindness, encouragement, and devotion to others, Carolyn sought to be a living testimony of the peace and hope she believed Christ provides. Her words, prayers, letters, and acts of love touched the lives of many.

Carolyn will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her love for children, her devotion to her family, and her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of encouragement and love that will continue through the lives of those she touched.
