Alan Eugene Blake, 49, of Rensselaer IN, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle against cancer. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Alan relocated to NW Indiana, from Anderson IN, after meeting his wife Jackie. The two were married on September 19, 2014, after many years together. He loved his job at Town & Country Paving where his co-workers became family. He took a lot of pride in his job, and loved paving.
Alan enjoyed spending his summers on his boat with his family and friends. He loved to fish and be on the water. He was constantly listening to music, whether he was mowing the lawn, working in the garage or just sitting outside with his family and two dogs. Music was always a big part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Blake, son, Logan (Kyra Cochran) Romine, grandson, Waylon, son, Kendall (Katie Shelley) Blake, soon to be grandbaby, Isiah Smith, step-son, David Anderson, grandson Trey, step-daughter, Anna Black, mother, Lois Harney (Keith), father, Robert Blake, brother, Brandon (Elizabeth)Blake and sister sister Jennifer Teasley.
A celebration of life will take place at Knights of Columbus 325 E. Vine St. Rensselaer IN, August 31, 3-7pm. Memories will be shared at 3:30, food to follow. There will be a cash-bar service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with final expenses may be made at the service, by cash app $jacqueKB or if you prefer to mail a donation, please reach out for the address by calling 219-718-5230.
